One side is showing your feelings and emotions. The other side is allowing yourself to reach your amazing God-given potential.
Many people are afraid to show their emotions out of fear of what other people may think of us.
Yet keeping our emotions locked up inside can have negative consequences. Failure to communicate with the ones we love most can put strain on relationships.
It may cause stress that leads you to make poor eating choices and gain weight.
The root cause is fear. But once you show your emotions, the fear loses its power over you.
It opens up the door to achieve great things.
Look at what some of us amazing humans have done…

What most people don’t realize is that it took her seven tries. She was disappointed with failure six times before she finally succeeded.
Yet despite her disappointment, every time she failed she got back in the water and trained harder. She was determined to succeed.
That’s an amazing feat. It shows you the amazing things you can do when you deal disappointment and failure and let yourself be human.
Human potential is endless. The only limit is your imagination.
This illustrates the two sides of humanity.
One the one side it’s OK to show your feelings and emotions. It’s OK to be disappointed. It’s not the end of the world to fail.
Because on the other side there is this amazing human potential that’s often spurred on to greater success by those feelings of sadness or disappointment.
So just look at people like Diana Nyad or whoever else you admire and allow them to inspire you to reach your potential.
Because we are all blessed with amazing potential to achieve great things.
The idea is not to suppress your humanity. But rather to embrace your humanity.
Show your feelings and emotions. Share your disappointments and frustrations.
Then tap into the amazing potential you have to achieve great things. And finally when you succeed share your feelings of joy and happiness to inspire others.
I believe most diets fail because they fail to tap into humanity. You don’t have to be perfect. It’s ok to make a mistake. It’s ok to admit you made a mistake. It’s ok to be disappointed or upset that you made a mistake. So what?
I teach piano part-time because it’s one of my passions. And I always tell my students something the great composer Beethoven said: The biggest mistake any pianist can make is not playing from the heart with passion.
When you’re playing the piano and you make a mistake everyone is going to know immediately. But they probably won’t even mind if they see you are playing with passion.
Especially if you just forget about it and quickly move on and continue playing the piano with passion.

And above all realize that we are all blessed with amazing potential. We all have the potential to achieve our weight loss goals and to have the body we want.
Just think of all the obstacles you’ve overcome in your life. Maybe it was an eating disorder. Maybe it was an addiction to sugar. Maybe it was something else.
Yet all of us have overcome many obstacles in our lives. And there’s no reason we can’t do it again.
Even better our success inspires others to achieve the same success. It could be our spouses, our siblings, our children, or our friends.
The whole point is that humanity can leave us feeling disappointed at times. Yet there is another side to humanity that allows us to achieve great things.
Embrace your humanity and celebrate your success,
